The Folkerts's Labor Day weekend wedding was one to remember! The Grand Island wedding at Boulder Flatts was the perfect mix of fun and glam.
The bride's obsession with Taylor Swift was evident in every detail, from the music to the decor. Hot pink was the color of the day, adding a fun and vibrant touch to the whole event.
The day started with the girls getting ready in the Boulder Flatts bridal suite in matching ~hot pink~ pjs. Once the boys arrived to get ready in the loft, it was time for the first looks.
The bride's dress was a surprise to her entire bridal party - their surprised gasps during the first look showed how special it was. The dress featured an overlay skirt that came off for a fitted, sparkly reception dress. The bride's first look with her dad was emotional and special. Her youngest brother was unable to attend the wedding due to military orders, making the first look with her middle brother extra special.
Finally, the bride and groom shared a sweet first look by the fountain. Afterwards, they headed off for portraits in the perfect late-summer sunlight.
The outdoor ceremony was centered around the couple's faith and was officiated by the bride's grandfather. The couple included all of their wedding party and family in a special prayer before the ceremony concluded. After being pronounced husband and wife, the couple exited the ceremony area to bubbles.
Cocktail hour featured lots of laughs, hugs, and a few fun photos. The wedding party then entered the reception where the couple immediately cut cake, signaling the start of the party! The groom's dad gave a sweet dinner prayer, then the festivities began.
Just when everyone thought the surprises were over for the day, the DJ called the bride's mother up for a mother-daughter dance to Taylor Swift's "Never Grow Up". As expected, there were lots of happy tears.
The bride and groom snuck off the dance floor for a few sunset photos, and the night ended with the bride and groom surrounded by all their favorite people.
The Folkerts's wedding was truly one to remember!
Fun fact: Laura was the matron of honor for this wedding, as well as the lead photographer. Documenting her best friend's day was truly the best honor. Shayne was also there as the videographer, making the day extra-special. And the photobooth we provided was a hit all night long!
